Job Description
DS2 offers a collaborative, mission driven environment in Niceville, Florida on site. The Senior Software Engineer in the Mission Planning Department will design, develop, deploy, and demonstrate feature rich mission planning applications and R&D projects. The role provides a competitive salary of USD 120,000 to 150,000 per year, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for ongoing learning and career growth. A Bachelor's degree and 15 years of experience are required.

Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, deployment, and demonstration of feature rich applications and R&D projects
- Contribute to the Next-Generation Open Mission Planning System for the DoW
- Define and translate the long term project vision into detailed features and feasible software designs
- Develop the architectural runway necessary for large scale solutions
- Learn emerging technologies and programming tools to keep the team well equipped
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field and 15 years of experience
- Background developing mission planning applications for the DoW
- Proficient in one or more of the following languages: C#, Java, JavaScript, or Typescript
- Experience with web frameworks such as React, Node.js, Vue.js, Next.js, ASP.NET, or Angular
- Strong fundamentals in software design and development and the ability to coordinate a team’s workflow
- Engages with teammates, virtually and in person, to plan projects, seek or provide help, and present solutions to clients
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritize a team’s tasks to meet deadlines
- U.S. Citizen and able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
