Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Kubernetes Networking
Job Description
Google seeks a Senior Software Engineer to advance cloud Kubernetes networking across the GKE and GDC platforms.
Location: Sunnyvale, CA onsite | Salary: USD 174,000 - 253,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to design reviews with peers and stakeholders to choose among competing technologies.
- Assess and triage product or system issues, debugging and tracking root causes while evaluating impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Create and integrate new networking features to support AI and ML workloads on the GDC platforms.
- Develop solutions for Container and VM workloads running on Kubernetes platforms.
- Architect and implement network connectivity for hybrid and multi cloud environments, covering data plane and control plane components, while assisting external customers with production cluster issues.
- Collaborate with open source communities to influence the direction of Kubernetes networking.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in Go, C, or Python.
- Minimum 5 years in network architectures, protocols such as TCP/IP and BGP, and related technologies.
- At least 5 years designing, implementing, and troubleshooting networks.
- Minimum 3 years building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or working with compute, storage, or hardware architectures.
- Experience with cloud compute platforms such as Kubernetes and Cloud Functions.
