Senior Software Engineer, Battlespace Awareness

Anduril Industries is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Air & Missile Defense Radar team in Denver, CO. The role focuses on real-time tracking algorithms and high-performance distributed software used to detect, track, and characterize airborne threats, including validation, integration, and deployment support.

Role Overview

As a senior engineer on the radar team, you will design and implement tracking solutions and distributed systems that operate on radar sensor data in real time. You will also contribute to modeling and simulation validation, integrate tracking capabilities into end-to-end defense systems, and help support deployments through demonstrations and field tests.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced tracking algorithms for novel air and missile threats, including multi-target tracking, track fusion, and discrimination techniques
• Develop high-performance, real-time software systems that process radar sensor data and maintain tracks on dozens to hundreds of simultaneous targets
• Build and leverage modeling and simulation environments to validate tracking performance, quantify system capabilities, and identify areas for improvement
• Collaborate with radar engineers and system architects to integrate tracking solutions into end-to-end defense systems
• Optimize tracking software for performance-critical environments where milliseconds matter
• Communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to cross-functional teams, program leadership, and customers to support informed decisions
• Participate in customer demonstrations and field tests to support successful deployment and operational effectiveness

Required Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience plus a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python
• Solid foundation in mathematics, including linear algebra, probability, statistics, and/or differential equations
• Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns, testing, version control, and debugging
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance

About the Team

Anduril’s Air & Missile Defense Radar team builds tracking algorithms and software systems that detect, track, and characterize airborne threats in real time. Work is performed in small, focused teams and spans the full pipeline from novel multi-target tracking algorithm development to building high-performance distributed systems that process large volumes of sensor data with millisecond-level requirements. The team also delivers production-grade systems for government and industry customers supporting mission-critical operations, with an emphasis on applying mathematics, software engineering, and signal processing to solve complex real-world problems.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with tracking, estimation, or filtering algorithms such as Kalman filters, particle filters, and multiple hypothesis tracking
• Background in controls, estimation theory, or digital signal processing
• Familiarity with radar systems or sensor fusion
• Experience with high-performance computing, including multithreading, GPU acceleration, and distributed systems
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques for classification, clustering, or data association
• Proficiency with database technologies including SQL, NoSQL, and time-series databases
• Experience with web development technologies, including JavaScript, React, and Node.js, for visualization and analysis tools
• Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or custom frameworks
• Experience working in agile development environments
• Active U.S. Top Secret SCI clearance

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: USD 190,000 - 252,000 per year
