Job Description

Adobe’s Search, Discovery & Content AI (SDC) team is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and optimize large-scale machine learning systems that support generative AI and content understanding and discovery for millions of users. This onsite role in San Jose, CA focuses on end-to-end system design, scalable GPU-optimized modeling, and building durable ML infrastructure in close collaboration with product and engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop end-to-end machine learning systems using innovative architectures.
  • Develop and implement scalable, GPU-optimized modeling algorithms that can handle large-scale data in production environments.
  • Build and maintain high-performance, scalable, and maintainable platform capabilities across the full ML pipeline.
  • Collaborate with architects, product management, and engineering teams to convert product requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design and develop runtimes and libraries for emerging machine learning technologies to help keep technical direction current.
  • Produce detailed requirements and design documentation for features spanning the technology stack.

Requirements

  • PhD or master’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, computer vision, robotics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of generative AI, deep learning, computer vision, and recommendation systems, with evidence of applying these methods to solve complex problems.
  • Proficiency with machine learning frameworks and tools including Scikit-learn, Hugging Face, PyTorch, and PyTorch Lightning.
  • Expertise with cloud technologies, Docker, and containerization.
  • Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Python, C++, Java, and Rust.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Compensation and Pay Range

  • U.S. pay range: USD 151,800 - 265,350 per year.
  • California pay range: USD 183,300 - 265,350 per year.
  • Non-sales roles are expressed with base salary, and short-term incentives are provided via the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
  • Certain roles may also be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.

AI Use Guidelines for Interviews
