Senior Full MS Stack Software Developer
Job Description
Hybrid contract opportunity in Portland, Oregon with a Pacific Northwest utility provider. This role focuses on building and operating mission-critical full-stack enterprise applications, including power scheduling systems, within a 24/7 environment. You will work on systems that require reliability, performance, and strong engineering practices, supported by a team that follows enterprise change management and separation of duties.
What you’ll be doing
- Design, implement, and maintain new features for the power scheduling system using established Clean Architecture patterns, SOLID, and object-oriented best practices.
- Partner with domain experts to convert complex business rules and functional specifications into scalable, maintainable software.
- Build and maintain high-performance backend services, middleware pipelines, and scheduled background processing jobs.
- Maintain, secure, and extend RESTful APIs and legacy service contracts to support reliable enterprise data exchange and cross-system integration.
- Implement asynchronous workflows and event-handling mechanisms across application layers.
- Develop and enhance user-facing interfaces for operator and customer portals supporting operational monitoring, scheduling, and data entry.
- Support modern web frontends (for example, Angular) and existing operational Windows clients (WPF/WinForms), including verifying responsive performance and stable client-server synchronization.
- Author, tune, and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and schema migrations across a multi-schema database environment.
- Verify data consistency, query performance, and indexing efficiency for high-volume transactional workloads.
- Participate in rigorous peer code reviews covering correctness, maintainability, architectural boundaries, and performance.
- Maintain automated unit and integration tests across data, service, and application layers.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues across the full stack, including client interfaces, APIs, application layers, and SQL Server.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, deployment support, and operational task management.
- Create and update technical documentation, including system specifications, interface definitions, and SOPs.
- Operate within strict enterprise change management processes, separation of duties, and high-availability (24/7) operational guidelines.
Required qualifications

- Without an applicable degree, 7 years of experience is required.
- Direct work experience in Computer/Information Technology.
- Expert-level C# development using .NET 10 to build secure, high-performance, maintainable enterprise applications.
- Proven application of design patterns, SOLID, and clean architectural patterns in complex enterprise full-stack solutions.

- Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio for development, debugging, and testing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office’s large suite, including PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
