Job Description
Bay Cove Human Services is seeking a Senior Developer/Analyst within Information Services to own the full lifecycle of web applications, balancing modern, responsive front-end experiences with robust back-end systems. The role, based onsite in Boston, requires a decade of hands-on work across Python, Django, and ColdFusion, with a track record of guiding projects from concept through deployment in a health and human services environment.

Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, test, and maintain full‑stack web applications using Python/Django and Microsoft SQL Server (T‑SQL, stored procedures), complemented by modern front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6+, JSON), Bootstrap 4/5, Datatables.js, and data visualization libraries; manage build processes with Gulp and package management with Yarn/NPM; migrate legacy Adobe ColdFusion apps to Python/Django while supporting existing ones.
- Build accessible, responsive user interfaces with modern design tools such as Canva or Figma and use Confluence for mockups and prototyping.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Lead or participate in project planning, code reviews, and documentation efforts.
- Mentor junior developers on best practices in full‑stack development and contribute to reusable components and libraries.
- Work with project managers and stakeholders to develop and execute test plans, ensuring high‑quality releases.
- Provide Tier 2/3 application support and troubleshoot production issues.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and propose relevant improvements; contribute to improving internal development processes.
- Participate in agency‑wide IT planning and strategy sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Python/Django and ColdFusion web application development.
- Strong working knowledge of front-end technologies and responsive web design.
- Experience with CFFILE, Session, and Application Variables, among other ColdFusion concepts.
- Experience with MS SQL Server databases (T‑SQL, stored procedures).
- Understanding of web services and API integration.
- Ability to stay current with relevant technologies and applications.
- Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and tools such as Canva, Figma, or Adobe XD.
- Experience with Python Django is favorable.
- Knowledge of healthcare environments, particularly mental health, developmental services, or substance abuse services, is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills; ability to function under pressure in a fast‑paced human services setting.
- Flexible and responsive to ongoing industry changes; able to identify opportunities and develop creative solutions.
