Job Description

Software Resources, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Engineer for a contract engagement located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The role centers on designing, developing, and implementing data engineering systems and ETL/ELT pipelines, with on-site work Monday through Thursday and remote Fridays in a hybrid arrangement.

Role Overview

The contract Senior Data Engineer will contribute to the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of data pipelines and related systems. This position emphasizes building scalable data processing capabilities and delivering reliable data assets for downstream analytics and visualizations.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in data requirements gathering
  • Perform source-to-target data mapping
  • Develop and review data validation scripts
  • Develop and monitor ETL and ELT data pipelines
  • Produce datasets used by science models and visualizations
  • Contribute to technical reviews to ensure quality deliverables
  • Develop understanding of business domain and processes to inform deliverables
  • Communicate data engineering progress to the project leadership team
  • Actively participate in meetings and discussions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of ELT/ETL development experience using SQL and Python
  • 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining data pipelines with frameworks such as Apache Flink, Beam, or Kafka Streams
  • Experience with understanding one or more business domains to assist in gathering and refining data requirements and data design solutions
  • Experience working in multiple environments (Dev, QA, Prod) and with DevOps practices for code deployment and promotion
  • Strong database design knowledge and proficiency with PostgreSQL or Snowflake
  • Experience managing and deploying code using GitLab or GitHub
  • Ability to articulate solutions and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical teammates
