Senior Custom WordPress Designer & Developer

Senior Web Designer & Developer at Plastic Surgery Studios is a hands-on, client-facing role centered on custom WordPress theme development and brand-led visual storytelling. You will run projects from concept through launch, aligning design decisions with performance goals and WCAG accessibility requirements.

Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA (onsite)
Compensation: USD 50,000 - 62,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Build brand-driven user journeys across all media channels
• Design landing pages, graphics, and branded marketing assets, using AI-assisted tools to accelerate ideation, moodboarding, and iteration in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
• Produce short-form videos, reels, motion elements, and visual stories, incorporating AI tools for generation and editing where they genuinely improve outcomes
• Develop custom WordPress themes from scratch using modern standards: HTML5, SCSS/Sass, JavaScript, and PHP
• Use AI coding assistants to speed up development while maintaining responsibility for code quality, structure, and maintainability
• Ensure strong performance, clean content structure, and optimized media delivery
• Implement WCAG accessibility standards on every build
• Conduct UX/UI audits to improve usability and conversion over time
• Manage multiple client accounts and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines
• Maintain and evolve design systems and reusable component libraries
• Share AI tool workflows, shortcuts, and learnings with the broader team to shape how the team works

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a digital agency, fast-paced web studio, or similar environment, delivering end-to-end projects
• Confident, day-to-day use of AI tools in design and/or development workflows (not limited to occasional experimentation)
• Strong client communication and practical problem-solving ability
• A standout portfolio featuring both high-end design work and custom development samples
• Expert judgment in responsive design, visual storytelling, and UX/UI
• Advanced proficiency in HTML5, SCSS/Sass, JavaScript, PHP, plus custom WordPress theme development
