Senior AI Developer
Job Description
Stellix is seeking a Senior AI Developer in Foxborough, MA to design, build, integrate, deploy, and support AI solutions that serve business, engineering, and customer needs. The role covers the full lifecycle from research and prototyping through production optimization and scale.
Role Overview
This position focuses on delivering AI-enabled applications and services with a strong emphasis on translation of business and customer requirements into practical, scalable solutions. You will work across architecture, development, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI-enabled applications and services.
- Translate business and customer needs into practical and scalable AI solutions.
- Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise applications, data, services, and business workflows.
- Prototype and evaluate emerging AI technologies, then transition successful concepts into production.
- Develop reusable AI capabilities, components, and technical patterns to support multiple applications and use cases.
- Evaluate and continuously improve AI solution quality, performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Contribute to AI architecture, technical documentation, development standards, and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in Python with a solid foundation in software engineering and application development.
- Strong understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning, including generative AI and emerging AI technologies.
- Experience with or knowledge of commonly used AI/ML libraries and frameworks.
- Understanding of AI agents, intelligent automation, information retrieval, embeddings, semantic search, and vector-based data retrieval.
- Experience developing and integrating APIs, backend services, databases, data pipelines, and AI/ML capabilities into applications.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent technologies.
- Proficiency with Git and source control practices in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with or exposure to additional enterprise development technologies such as C#/.NET.
- Understanding of production software and AI considerations, including performance, scalability, reliability, monitoring, security, testing, and maintainability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in web application development, including JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, including deployment and environment configuration and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments and considerations for deploying and operating AI solutions.

- Continuously improves AI solutions using performance data, user feedback, changing business needs, and advances in AI technology.
- Builds effective partnerships with technical teams, subject matter experts, business stakeholders, and customers to ensure successful outcomes.
Compensation
- Base salary range: $135,000 to $160,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
- Variable compensation: eligible for a variable compensation plan.

Work Location and On-Site Requirements
- Location: Foxborough, MA (onsite)
- On-site schedule: full on-site presence 5 days per week during the first 4–6 months.
- After that period, on-site four days per week, including Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with the fourth on-site day alternating between Tuesday or Friday depending on business needs.
