Job Description

VTG is seeking an RF Software Engineer to help design, develop, implement, and optimize advanced Radio Frequency (RF) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) software solutions for mission-critical government systems. This onsite role in Hanover, MD focuses on algorithm development, high-performance RF signal processing, and integration of COTS and GOTS technologies with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, implement, and optimize RF and DSP algorithms for advanced signal processing applications.
  • Develop high-performance software for RF signal detection, analysis, processing, and exploitation.
  • Create algorithms for high-throughput processing, low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), higher-order modulation, and adaptive modulation techniques.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications using C++, Python, and Linux-based development environments.
  • Analyze RF signal characteristics and build software algorithms to improve processing performance and efficiency.
  • Modify and enhance existing software and firmware to support evolving technical and operational requirements.
  • Integrate and adapt Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) technologies to meet specialized government needs.
  • Develop, test, debug, and validate RF signal processing software to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  • Optimize software algorithms for computational efficiency, high-throughput processing, and overall system performance.
  • Produce technical documentation covering software architecture, signal processing models, algorithms, and implementation methodologies.
  • Communicate complex RF and DSP algorithm details to engineering teams to support integration, reuse, and ongoing development.
  • Collaborate across RF engineering, software development, systems engineering, and other technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, software testing, troubleshooting, and system integration activities.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizen with TS/SCI with Poly required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
