Python Software Engineer – Containerized Mission Applications

This Python Software Engineer position supports mission applications, with work performed on-site in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and troubleshoot Python applications
• Integrate software with COTS, GOTS, and open-source products
• Deploy containerized services to Kubernetes using Helm
• Work with MongoDB and RabbitMQ
• Support logging and monitoring using Elastic Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
• Working knowledge of Linux command-line tools
• Bash scripting experience
• Recent Python 3 development
• RabbitMQ or similar messaging frameworks
• MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Docker, containerd, and Kubernetes experience
• Helm chart development
• GitLab CI and CI/CD practices
• Experience with Elastic Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana
• Git proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PostgreSQL or other SQL databases
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Ansible
• Rust, or willingness to learn
• Jira and Confluence

Work Location and Arrangement

Annapolis Junction, MD (onsite). All positions require in-person work, and applicants must live within commuting distance of the listed work location to be considered. Some roles may allow limited telework, but regular on-site attendance is required. These are not fully remote positions.

Clearance Requirement

TS/SCI with polygraph is required.

Compensation

$105.92–$116.95 per hour (approximate pay). An employer 401(k) contribution is additional.

• Choose from three compensation models: Max Rate, With Bonus, or With Bonus and PTO
• The lower end reflects a no-bonus option with five weeks of PTO
• The upper end reflects the Max Rate option without bonus or PTO
• PTO and bonuses depend on the selected model and role eligibility
