Job Description
The Principal Quant Developer will join Fidelity Investments QRIT team to design, build, enhance, and support a portfolio optimization and backtesting ecosystem, working hands-on alongside software engineers and quantitative developers.

Smithfield, RI (onsite)
Salary
USD 107,000 - 216,000 per yearly
Experience and Education
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in financial services, with asset management experience preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with quantitative research and investments teams to design, build, enhance, and support a comprehensive portfolio optimization and backtesting ecosystem.
- Engage in hands-on development in partnership with a team of software engineers and quantitative developers.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in financial services, with asset management experience preferred.
- Experience leveraging industry-scale optimization libraries such as Matlab Linear, Gurobi, Cplex, Axioma, and SciPy.
- Proficiency in Python and microservices / RESTful APIs.
- Proven ability to design highly scalable and low latency systems.
- Experience with AWS cloud environment and working knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps.
- Strong expertise in system architecture, design patterns, and software engineering fundamentals including OOP, functional programming, and data modeling.
- Advanced understanding of data structures.
- Portfolio construction and/or portfolio optimization experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to capture requirements and formulate plans by partnering with stakeholders across the organization.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills to influence decisions across Fidelity at all levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in a computational field such as Computer Science; Master’s degree is preferred.
