.NET Backend Developer

CoreKinect is building high-throughput backend systems that handle binary IoT device traffic and power business-critical internal applications. If you enjoy backend engineering with real-world reliability requirements, this onsite role in Chandler, AZ combines distributed systems, secure protocol processing, and data storage and performance work. The position offers $140,000 - $160,000 per year and benefits including health insurance, vision insurance, and paid time off.

What you’ll build

• IoT device communication systems and binary protocol ingestion services
• Backend APIs and services used by internal business operations and workflows
• Data processing pipelines for device traffic at scale, including scalable storage and caching systems
• Security-focused communication infrastructure using encryption and signing workflows
• Database design and performance optimization initiatives to support efficient storage and retrieval of large volumes of device data

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend systems using C# and ASP.NET 6+
• Build high-throughput services for ingesting binary IoT device traffic
• Develop ASP.NET applications and backend services that support internal business operations
• Implement binary protocol parsing, buffer processing, checksumming, and packet validation
• Create secure communication workflows using AES encryption and cryptographic signing
• Design scalable systems for processing, storing, and retrieving large volumes of device data
• Design database schemas that support scalability, maintainability, and efficient data access patterns
• Write and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database structures for high-performance application behavior
• Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues, query execution plans, and data access bottlenecks
• Build and maintain PostgreSQL and Redis-backed services
• Use Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to build maintainable architectures
• Create automated tests using xUnit and related testing tools
• Containerize applications and development environments using Docker
• Collaborate with frontend and infrastructure teams to prepare backend data for web UI consumption
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, concurrency issues, and distributed system failures
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with C# and ASP.NET 6 or newer
• Experience building backend APIs and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of relational database design and data modeling principles
• Ability to design database schemas, indexes, and efficient query strategies
• Competence analyzing query performance and understanding how database design impacts scalability
• Strong understanding of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with Redis or other caching technologies
• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Experience writing automated tests using xUnit
• Experience with Docker and containerized development workflows
• Familiarity with AES encryption, cryptographic signing, and checksumming techniques
• Experience with binary protocols, byte buffers, streams, or low-level data processing
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, and performance optimization
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, production-quality code

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with IoT systems or telemetry platforms
• Experience designing message ingestion pipelines
• Familiarity with TCP/UDP socket programming
• Experience with high-volume or real-time data processing systems
• Experience with event-driven architectures and background processing systems
• Familiarity with Linux-based deployment environments
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and communication protocols
• Experience troubleshooting database performance issues in production environments
• Familiarity with database indexing strategies, query optimization, and large-scale data storage systems
