Mobile Application Developer (iOS & Android)

A faith-based higher education organization in West Michigan is seeking a Mobile Application Developer to support the design, development, and ongoing improvement of native mobile applications. This role is central to enhancing student-facing platforms and internal systems. The team welcomes candidates with a range of experience levels who demonstrate strong technical ability and a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and maintenance of native mobile applications for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin or Java).
• Enhancement and support of existing mobile applications with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
• Integration of mobile applications with APIs, SQL Server databases, and cloud-based services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including occasional after-hours support as needed.
• Stay current with emerging mobile technologies and recommend enhancements.
• Provide occasional support for related web-based systems and internal platforms as needed.

Schedule & Pay

Full-time, salaried position.

Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience. Additional flexibility may be considered for highly qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with native mobile development using Swift (iOS) and Kotlin or Java (Android).
• Experience working with APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend systems.
• Exposure to web technologies or JavaScript frameworks is helpful but not required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of experience, technical skill, and project work will be considered.
