Mobile Application Developer (iOS & Android)
Job Description
The Mobile Application Developer designs, builds, and maintains native iOS and Android applications that support student-facing platforms and internal systems for a faith-based higher education organization in West Michigan. This on-site role is based in Grand Rapids, MI.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ongoing maintenance of native mobile applications for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin or Java)
- Enhance and support existing mobile apps with a focus on performance, security, and scalability
- Integrate mobile applications with APIs, SQL Server databases, and cloud-based services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including occasional after-hours support as needed
- Stay current with emerging mobile technologies and propose enhancements
- Provide occasional support for related web-based systems and internal platforms as required
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Proven expertise in native mobile development with Swift for iOS and Kotlin or Java for Android
- Experience integrating mobile apps with APIs and backend systems
- Familiarity with web technologies or JavaScript frameworks is helpful but not required
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of experience, technical skill, and project work will be considered

Schedule & Pay
- Full-Time, Salaried
- USD 75,000–80,000 per year, based on experience
- Additional flexibility may be considered for highly qualified candidates
