Mirth/HL7 Developer/Engineer

Vytwo is seeking a developer/engineer to design, build, test, and implement HL7 interfaces using Mirth. This role includes ongoing support for Mirth server high availability, troubleshooting, and integration work across real-time and batch workflows.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement HL7 interfaces.
• Create test cases including unit, integration, and user acceptance to validate HL7 message data against business requirements and confirm correct translation behavior.
• Manage and support the high availability clustered environment of Mirth servers.
• Configure Mirth servers, apply necessary changes, and perform Mirth product upgrades.
• Remediate security findings, troubleshoot performance issues, and monitor inbound feeds.
• Support QA/UAT activities and postproduction stabilization efforts.
• Provide support and enhancements to existing Mirth applications to maintain and improve high availability of Mirth-based solutions.
• Implement HL7 integrations using both:
  • Real-time protocols: TCP/IP and VPN
  • Batch protocols: FTP and SFTP
• Document technical processes, procedures, and workflows accurately.
• Build and support web service and API calls from Mirth.
• Execute database queries using Oracle and SQL Server.

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Detailed working knowledge and hands-on experience with HL7 V2.x and HL7 V3.x interfaces.
• Experience working with common HL7 message types including ADT (Admit Discharge Transfer) and ORU (Results).
• Working knowledge of XML plus CCD and CDA, with a good understanding of HIPAA rules.
• Familiarity with healthcare IT standards including LOINC, ICD-9/ICD-10, and SNOMED.
• Two-way SSL protocol experience.
