Job Description

The Information Services Developer Senior at Christus Health designs, develops, and implements systems aligned to business and functional requirements. The role partners with team members to deliver timely, high-quality support for internal and external users while contributing to customer service outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze ideas and business and functional requirements to define a design approach.
  • Act as a tenant to develop a workable application design and coding parameters, including essential functionality.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify issues and implement technical solutions that are time and cost effective without degrading performance quality.
  • Develop code using industry best practices and follow organizational development rules and standards.
  • Develop and deploy code using existing tools and platforms for automation and testing.
  • Participate in evaluating proposed system acquisitions or solution development, providing input on compatibility, cost, resource requirements, operations, and maintenance.
  • Integrate software components, subsystems, facilities, and services into existing technical environments; assess downstream system impact and work with cross-functional teams within Information Services. Install, configure, and verify software component operation.
  • Contribute to standards and proactive processes that collect and report data and statistics for assigned systems.
  • Participate in research, design, development, and implementation of application, database, and interface solutions using provided technology platforms.
  • Research, design, implement, and manage programs.
  • Troubleshoot issues that emerge during test cycles and continuously improve delivery quality.
  • Reference and document each phase of development to support future maintenance and operations.
  • Lead and guide developers on the team by providing technical assistance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related field.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and process.
  • Algorithm and Data Structure fundamentals.
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Understanding of programming principles and design.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Enterprise Application and Integration Design and Development, including systems, databases, operating systems, and Information Services.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and present solutions to superiors.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, including under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with other employees.

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in corporate systems environments required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years development experience in a corporate environment.
  • Working experience in design, coding, and deployment.
  • Knowledge of industry standard WEB platforms (.NET/C#) and automation (RPA and Test Automation), including Microsoft Internet Information Server, Linux, Apache, Unix, and Microsoft Foundation Server.
  • Experience coordinating work and designing solutions for internal or external customers.
  • Experience using the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
