Job Description

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join its Consumer and Community Banking division, based onsite in Atlanta, GA. The role centers on Python, PySpark, Databricks, and AI, and you will be a pivotal agile contributor responsible for delivering trusted, scalable technology solutions across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develops innovative software solutions, designs, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to move beyond routine approaches to solve complex problems.
  • Delivers secure, high-quality production code and participates in reviews and debugging of colleague submissions.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate recurring remediation to enhance the operational stability of applications and systems.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs, credentials, and fit within the existing information architecture.
  • Fosters communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Champions enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, establishing validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns.
  • Applies knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle tooling, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize automation value.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Strong knowledge of System Design, Domain-Driven Design, and Microservices.
  • Experience guiding monolith to microservices transitions for a 1000+ TPS, 24/7 platform.
  • Familiarity with patterns for scalability, high availability, performance, and disaster recovery.
  • Hands-on experience with core Java, Python, Spring, and REST services.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and service mesh, SQL and NoSQL databases, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, BitBucket, Git, Jira, and promoting Agile practices such as TDD/BDD.
  • Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within relevant disciplines (cloud, AI, ML, mobile, etc.).
  • Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption in delivery.
