Lead Oracle Database Developer

SS&C Technologies is seeking a Lead Oracle Database Developer to join its Skillman, New Jersey team on a hybrid work arrangement. The role centers on Oracle PL/SQL development, database design, and ongoing support for applications deployed in private cloud environments and at remote client sites. The position offers a salary range of USD 125,000 to 150,000 per year and emphasizes collaboration with development and business teams, strong problem solving, and delivering reliable, mission-critical database solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement both documented and verbal functional specifications.
• Develop and provide ongoing support for applications operating in private cloud networks and at remote client sites.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and collaborate with internal teams including development and business units to design and implement fixes.
• Bring robust technical skills, a willingness to adopt new technologies, a dedication to client service, and the flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 6-8 years of Oracle PL/SQL development experience.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience with SQL debugging and tuning tools and techniques.
• Thorough understanding of Oracle database objects and their purposes.
• Solid grasp of Oracle database environment characteristics and operations.
• Ability to support and coordinate with an Oracle DBA during development, delivery, and client troubleshooting.
• Ability to act as the primary database development subject-matter expert and collaborate with top-tier and mid-tier development teams.
• Experience with modern source control tools such as GitHub.
• Understanding of modern software design and development methodologies and the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong root-cause analysis skills to identify end-user issues and provide effective mitigations.
• Proactive mindset with sound judgment and the ability to meet mission-critical delivery deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities as the business dictates.
• Commitment to continuous learning and the capacity to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and work as a collaborative team player across SS&C and client teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with teammates, support staff, and clients.
