Job Description
The Job Developer role at Career Path Services in Spokane, WA, operates on a hybrid schedule to connect job seekers with employers through employer engagement, job readiness coaching, and program coordination.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain employer partnerships to uncover job opportunities and advocate for program participants who meet criteria.
- Lead outreach efforts and create Career Jump and worksite placement options aligned with each participant’s objectives.
- Coordinate Meet the Employer events and additional business engagement activities to enhance participant employment outcomes.
- Apply a consultative sales mindset to match employer requirements with participant capabilities.
- Maintain thorough documentation of employer interactions and outcomes in accordance with program guidelines.
- Instruct participants on job search strategies, application methods, interview techniques, and workplace norms.
- Deliver one-on-one and group coaching to bolster participants' job searching efforts.
- Monitor weekly participation, verify job search records, and track progress toward goals.
- Hold participants accountable to service plans and relay participation concerns to Case Managers as necessary.
- Assist with problem solving, conflict resolution, and motivation during the job search process.
- Collaborate with Commerce Case Managers, Job Readiness Coaches, and DSHS to advance participant progress.
- Create individualized job search and development goals and update service plans and MIS systems, including eJAS.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation for services, activities, and outcomes.
- Coordinate case staffing coverage, continuous activity planning, and good cause processes as needed.
- Carry out intentional exit planning with participants and ensure transition activities are completed.
- Provide post-employment support with check-ins at 7 and 14 days, and beyond as appropriate.
- Complete and submit employment verifications, referrals to additional resources, and relevant service plan updates.
- Support transitions to unsubsidized employment and assist employers with onboarding as required.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
- Contribute to program strategy and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in workforce development, social services, job placement or related fields such as sales or coaching.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; LinkedIn and other professional networking tools.
- Ability to operate in a diverse, fast-paced environment with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and cultural competency.
- Access to a personal vehicle or reliable transportation to meet daily travel requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, sales, communications, or workforce development, with substitutions allowed for relevant work experience.
- Experience assisting individuals facing barriers such as low income, disability, criminal history, or homelessness.
- Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) certification.
- Proven success operating in performance-based environments.
- Experience delivering public speaking and presentations to diverse audiences.
