Enterprise Application Developer II - Office of Research
Job Description
Enterprise Application Developer II supporting a major enterprise research application at MCW, fully remote within MCW payroll states; location Madison, WI; salary USD 81,100 - 103,300 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, code, test, debug, modify, and document moderately complex applications with minimal supervision, applying solid knowledge of business processes.
- Mentor and coach development staff, guiding and training team members to uphold established standards and best practices.
- Contribute to development standards, guidelines, and lifecycle process improvements in a continual improvement cycle.
- Serve as a technical lead and primary point of contact for the development team.
- Convert concepts into detailed specifications aligned with the IS development methodology for business projects and customizations integrated with existing applications.
- Analyze, design, and modify existing business applications and processes, recommending system and process optimizations.
- Diagnose and resolve maintenance and support issues for business applications.
- Operate in a complex environment with multiple concurrent requests, working independently and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Collaborate with business and management to plan workflows, timelines, and activities for support and upgrade work.
- Partner with end users and technical staff to diagnose and resolve problems across various business processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressively responsible development experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication, strong critical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail
- Experience with business process management software including development, validation, and testing of workflow progressions is desirable
- Ability to translate concepts into finished solutions through collaboration with business users of varying experience
- Experience managing projects through a full lifecycle
- General understanding of web services
- Experience with SSRS reporting and pulling data from multiple databases (SQL Server, Workday, etc) into dashboards or reports
- Experience with software configuration management systems, bug-tracking systems, and business object frameworks
- Experience in a SaaS environment is desirable
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong customer support, systems analysis, troubleshooting, problem solving, and listening skills
- Bachelor's degree required
