Job Description
Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and deploy data pipelines and platforms that bring order to diverse data for mission-driven initiatives. In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams through a fast-paced environment, turning complex data into actionable insights and guiding the development of scalable data systems for clients.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver data engineering solutions on mission-focused projects
- Develop and operate pipelines and platforms that unify disparate data into meaningful information
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, engineers, developers, and data consumers in an agile setting
- Apply analytical exploration to manage the assessment, design, construction, and maintenance of scalable data platforms for clients
Requirements
- 5+ years designing data warehouses or data lakes, RESTful API models, event processing, or business intelligence for software systems
- 5+ years building scalable ETL or ELT pipelines, automating large-scale batch and streaming data workflows, and parsing structured, unstructured, or event-streaming data
- 5+ years coding in SQL, Python, Scala, Spark, or Java
- Experience tuning data lake architectures to optimize cloud storage and pipeline performance
- Experience with data management solutions addressing data catalog, usage governance policies, and lifecycle management
- Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining data systems, or 12+ years of experience in lieu of a degree

Clearance
Top Secret clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Compensation
The projected compensation range is $77,500 to $176,000 annually (USD). Compensation is determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract affordability, and organizational requirements; this range represents the typical salary for this position as part of Booz Allen’s total comp.
