Data Engineer, Senior

Booz Allen Hamilton is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support mission-driven technology efforts in Quantico, Virginia. In this onsite role, you will design and deploy scalable data engineering platforms and pipelines, helping organize and transform disparate data into usable insights for client teams.

You will work in an agile environment alongside analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers, contributing to advanced solutions while guiding others through the assessment, design, build, and ongoing maintenance of data systems.

What You’ll Do

• Build advanced technology solutions and deliver data engineering activities for mission-driven projects.
• Develop and deploy pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
• Apply analytical exploration and data examination while managing the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for clients.
• Support and guide a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience designing data warehouse or data lake solutions, RESTful API models, event processing, or business intelligence for software systems.
• Experience building scalable ETL or ELT pipelines, including automating large-scale batch and streaming workflows and parsing structured, unstructured, or event-streaming data.
• Coding experience in software programming languages, including Postgres, SQL, Python, Scala, Spark, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Apache NiFi, or Databricks.
• Experience tuning data lake architecture to optimize cloud storage and pipeline performance.
• Experience with data management solutions covering data cataloging, data usage, governance policies, and lifecycle management.
• Top Secret clearance.
• A Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining data systems, or 12+ years in lieu of a degree.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD).
