Data Engineer

Sage Care Inc is seeking a Data Engineer to lead end-to-end healthcare data work, from scalable storage and integrations to extraction, summarization, and user-facing data experiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the core data management system across the full healthcare data lifecycle.
• Design and build data fetch solutions through integrations, including EPIC and other connected systems.
• Implement flexible, scalable, and efficient storage systems that are HIPAA compliant.
• Build user-facing UI to view and manage healthcare data.
• Create a knowledge extraction layer on top of raw healthcare data.
• Summarize key results from provider notes.
• Extract high-level important properties from raw data to support downstream product needs.
• Support data-driven product capabilities including Provider Matching, Scheduling, Referral Recommendation, and AI voice agents.
• Collaborate across data management, ML/AI research, and software engineering to deliver working systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data extraction and summarization.
• Experience working closely with end users in an iterative loop to gather feedback and refine the system.
• Strong backend engineering skills and systems thinking.
• Ability to work through ambiguous problems and define solutions from first principles.
• Experience converting novel approaches into testable prototypes.

• Built extensible data storage systems for medical data across multiple partners.

• Built UI to display, update, and search over underlying storage.
