Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer at Wyyerd Group LLC, you will support the design and operation of data integration solutions that keep reporting and analytics systems reliable and current. The role emphasizes scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, PostgreSQL query work, REST API integrations, and maintaining SnapLogic workflows in a Texas onsite environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ongoing data processing needs.
• Build and support integrations between internal systems and third-party applications.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex PostgreSQL queries and database objects.
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and reliability across integrated data flows.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing data pipelines.
• Develop and maintain REST API integrations used to exchange and transform data.
• Create and maintain data workflows using SnapLogic.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and application teams to confirm reporting and integration requirements.
• Document data flows, integration processes, and technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to data engineering best practices.
• Expand data warehouse and analytics capabilities, including transforming program data for use in the reporting warehouse.
• Monitor emails from automation and handle errors when they occur, ensuring operational continuity.
• Monitor server performance and identify poorly designed queries that can be optimized.
• Analyze refresh cycles that take too long and implement optimizations to reduce execution time.
• Support database upgrades and related maintenance activities.
• Prioritize tasks in a work queue and manage execution against operational needs.
• Implement automation to keep the data warehouse up to date using daily, hourly, and real-time data updates.
• Work with external vendors for regulatory (FCC) reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or a related field.
• 5-9 years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL skills.
• PostgreSQL experience.
• Strong database design skills.
• Strong query optimization skills.
• Basic Linux/MacOS scripting skills.
• Working knowledge of GIT.
• Working knowledge of AWS.
• Experience with Python preferred.
