Job Description

Realign LLC is hiring an experienced Data Engineer with Python and SQL for an onsite role in Charlotte, NC. This position focuses on building and operating large-scale data pipelines and cloud-native data lakes and warehouses, with a strong emphasis on performance, data quality, and engineering practices that keep systems reliable as they scale. The salary is USD 119,000 per year.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will design and build production data workflows using Python, taking ownership for end-to-end pipeline architecture and day-to-day support across structured and unstructured datasets. You will build ingestion and processing systems, including indexing and retrieval pipelines, and lead cloud-native patterns for data lakes and warehouses.

  • Design and build large-scale data pipelines using Python
  • Build and support data ingestion, processing, indexing, and retrieval for structured and unstructured data
  • Lead architecture for cloud-native data lakes and warehouses
  • Optimize big data processing jobs for both speed and cost
  • Mentor junior data engineers and lead code reviews
  • Set up data governance, data quality, and monitoring systems
  • Partner with data scientists to deploy machine learning models

Core skills and requirements

This opportunity is best suited for someone with deep experience in data engineering and hands-on development across ingestion, ETL, and integrations, along with strong performance and reliability instincts.

  • Experience: 8+ years
  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Primary skills: Python, SQL, data ingestion and ETL, API development and integration, Mongo DB, Oracle or relational databases, Elastic or Solr, vector database, Linux/Bash, OpenShift containers, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, and data modelling
  • Secondary skills: FastAPI, data quality and validation, performance tuning
  • Required skill alignment: Data / Python Engineer Python / DevOps Engineer
