Data Engineer
Job Description
Intone Networks is seeking a Data Engineer to work remotely on healthcare claims data, focusing on SQL driven data management, data quality, and data integration while helping design scalable architectures in collaboration with product, analytics, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize intricate SQL queries for data management and validation to ensure accuracy across healthcare claims data
- Provide subject matter expertise on data mapping, transformations, validations, and ingestion workflows
- Monitor data pipelines to uphold quality, consistency, and reliability
- Design and implement scalable, secure data architectures to support current and future applications
- Configure production solutions and services as required
- Act as a change agent to identify process improvements and recommend enhancements to business workflows
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including technical product owners, analysts, and software engineers
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
- Contribute to code reviews, sprint planning, and architectural discussions
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data engineering
- Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders
- Complete assigned tasks on schedule
- Provide after hours or weekend support as needed
- Work effectively with minimal supervision
- Adhere to industry and organizational compliance standards to maintain data integrity
- Complete tasks using department ticketing and productivity systems within deadlines
- Meet organizational and individual goals as identified in performance reviews and goal setting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role
- 8+ years of data analysis experience, preferably in healthcare enrollment, medical claims, or pharmacy claims
- 8+ years hands-on SQL and/or PL/SQL experience
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing data models in NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j) to support high-volume, low-latency workloads
- Working knowledge of big data and cloud technologies (Databricks, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with project management tools such as JIRA
- Strong understanding of agile development practices, ideally SAFe
- Strong analytical skills and excellent verbal, listening, and written communication abilities
