Job Description

NSD International, Inc. is hiring an Azure Data Engineer to support the ongoing build-out of an Azure-based data platform. The engagement begins with establishing a reference data system for securities and pricing data, with subsequent work moving into other data domains.

Role Overview

In this contract position, you will collaborate closely with the consulting and internal teams to help deliver the Data Strategy agenda. The initial focus is the implementation of a reference data system for securities and pricing data, followed by expansion to additional domains as development progresses. Work will be performed in alignment with internal development standards for contributions to the broader platform roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in active development of the Azure data platform in close coordination with the team.
  • Help establish a reference data system for securities and pricing data, then extend work to other data domains.
  • Follow internal development standards to support the overall agenda of the Data Strategy team.
  • Provide Azure Cloud Platform implementation solutions and the required technical know-how across the capabilities listed in the qualifications.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software development experience using Python, PySpark, and related frameworks.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer and/or Data Quality Engineer with Azure cloud experience.
  • Experience implementing solutions using Azure cloud services.
  • Experience implementing solutions using Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience implementing solutions using Azure Lake Gen 2.
  • Experience implementing solutions using Azure Databases.
  • Experience implementing solutions using Azure Databricks.
  • Experience implementing Data Quality Framework/Solution.
  • Experience with Collibra Data Quality or data quality tools such as IDQ/IBM/Ab-Initio.
  • Experience implementing Collibra Data Governance and knowledge of data lineage.
  • Experience implementing solutions using Power BI.
  • Well versed with Azure Databricks.
  • Strong SQL skills with RDMS or noSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with the DevOps lifecycle (including git, Jenkins) and CI/CD processes.
  • Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience in financial services industry, including familiarity with financial instruments, asset classes, and market data (noted as a plus).

  • Job type: Contract
  • Expected hours: 35.0 to 45.0 per week

Compensation & Term

  • Pay: $74.00 per hour
  • Term: 1 year (possibility of extension)
