Android Mobile Software Developer II

This hybrid Seattle, WA role offers the chance to shape Android experiences for users making major life decisions, backed by a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits. You will collaborate with product and design teams to translate user needs into solid Android features and leverage approved AI code generation tools to document, architect, and create code.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver advanced Android features that influence major user decisions
• Review code with teammates, write documentation, refine best practices, and contribute to a maintainable, well-tested codebase
• Partner with product and design to translate user needs and business goals into technical solutions
• Champion iOS best practices and design principles within the team where relevant, incorporating industry trends as appropriate
• Leverage approved AI code generation tools to document architecture, plan solutions, and generate code

Requirements

• Strong focus on delivering exceptional user experiences, collaborating with product managers and designers to craft polished products and resolve performance bottlenecks
• 3+ years of development experience, including at least 2 years building native Android apps
• Practical experience with Android apps using Kotlin and Java, plus solid CS and software engineering fundamentals
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across distances and levels, with constructive, respectful discourse
• Awareness of iOS community trends and a drive to continuously improve cross-platform products
• Enjoy working with a skilled, collaborative team to elevate your own impact
• A passion for clean, well-architected, maintainable code
• Experience running experiments or familiarity with experimentation frameworks is a plus
• Experience with AI code generation tools such as GitHub CoPilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar

On-call expectations

This role may include participation in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure service reliability. On-call responsibilities may include coverage during nights and weekends. If applicable, frequency and scheduling will be determined by team needs and communicated accordingly.
