Android Developer

The Android Developer role at Photon is based in the United States with an onsite requirement. The position focuses on building Android app features end to end, partnering with design and product to shape user flows, and maintaining high engineering standards through testing, performance monitoring, and ongoing improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical spokesperson for the project with key stakeholders.
• Develop and design new Android app features.
• Represent the team in technical discussions with other engineering teams.
• Work closely with design and product teams to architect intuitive application flows for users.
• Promote and support software development best practices and established standards.
• Anticipate technical problems and risks, mitigate issues, and communicate status to team leadership.
• Influence the Android development process, including API creation, design, and product alignment.
• Review and approve software design and code produced by team members.
• Identify, evaluate, and select internal or external technologies (including vendors, frameworks, and APIs) to integrate with mobile applications.
• Write unit tests and support QA and other testing activities.
• Collaborate with the team in Agile/Scrum development processes.
• Monitor application performance and implement continuous enhancements.
• Prepare technical documentation and support deployment activities.
• Stay current with the latest Android technologies and industry trends.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or a related field.
• Travel and relocation are required, as work will be performed at various unanticipated locations throughout the United States.
