WordPress Front-End Developer
Job Description
This WordPress Front-End Developer role focuses on building and refining websites using Bricks Builder, with emphasis on UX/UI, accessibility, and performance. The position collaborates with designers and stakeholders to translate designs into high-performing digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and update custom WordPress websites using Bricks Builder.
- Translate design mockups from Figma, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and similar tools into responsive, pixel-perfect web experiences.
- Apply UX/UI best practices to enhance navigation, usability, accessibility, and user engagement.
- Build reusable templates, components, and dynamic layouts within Bricks.
- Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to refine user flows and interface designs.
- Optimize websites for performance, accessibility (WCAG), search engine optimization, and Core Web Vitals.
- Ensure consistent experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Drive usability improvements based on analytics, user feedback, and best practices.
- Integrate custom fields, dynamic content, forms, and third-party services.
- Troubleshoot front-end issues and provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize websites to deliver accessible, user-centered, high-performing digital experiences.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of professional WordPress development experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Bricks Builder.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, including information architecture, visual hierarchy, accessibility, and responsive design.

- Experience implementing designs from Figma, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, or similar tools.

Compensation
Salary: $69,300 - $84,000 USD per year. This is a full-time exempt position with full benefits, and salary is commensurate with experience.
Location and Work Arrangement
Location: Salt Lake City, UT, hybrid work arrangement. The team operates primarily in-person at our UP offices from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. Utah’s Promise is piloting a 36-hour work week with Friday afternoons off.
Preferred Qualifications
- Portfolio demonstrating both front-end development and UX/UI work.
- Experience conducting usability testing or applying user feedback to improve websites.
- Knowledge of interaction design, micro-animations, and user-centered design principles.
- Experience optimizing website accessibility and inclusive design.
- Understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) and user journey optimization.
- Experience with hosting platforms such as Pantheon.
- Experience writing clean, semantic HTML, modern CSS, and JavaScript is preferred but not required.
