Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Web Applications Developer at AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will lead modernization and ongoing improvements to secure, data-enabled web applications serving JBAB. The role emphasizes building scalable, high-performance solutions and guiding the development of interfaces and services that enable informed decision-making in a federal contracting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Modernize and maintain web applications to improve scalability and performance
  • Write modular code using React.js, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Refactor legacy code to reduce debt and improve readability
  • Develop dashboards, workflows, and visualizations for data-driven applications
  • Optimize SQL queries and ensure database performance and security
  • Define and deliver scalable solutions in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Work within Agile environments, including Scrum, XP, and Kanban
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers
  • Provide actionable reports and analytics to support informed decisions
  • Maintain, modernize, and refactor web applications for improved scalability and maintainability

Requirements

  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility is required
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience
  • Active Security+ CE certificate or ability to obtain Security+ CE within 90 days of hire
  • Proficiency in React.js, Node.js, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, and SQL
  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Ability to analyze, refactor, and improve legacy applications
  • Familiarity with Linux (RHEL) administration and update management
  • Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum or XP methodologies

Pay Transparency Statement

  • Salary range for this position is USD $155,000.00/Yr. - USD $175,000/Yr.
  • Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
