Job Description

Hybrid Systems/Software Engineer III role building and improving a cloud-native and on-premises security management platform, with 2 days per week from an HPE office in San Juan, PR.

Responsibilities

  • Own one or more product modules end-to-end
  • Implement well-defined tasks through coding
  • Apply debugging and software design skills at the module level; contribute across multiple modules/features
  • Review and evaluate designs and project activities
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for enhancements and new products
  • Follow compliance and development guidelines/standards during implementation
  • Support high-quality delivery by:
    • Writing robust Unit Test cases
    • Improving code coverage via automation
    • Validating new and existing functionality
    • Documenting and executing functional test cases before QA handoff

Requirements

  • 4-6 years experience; minimum 4 years
  • Experience building cloud products using microservices architecture
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud applications and related technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to debug complex software
  • Experience collaborating with cross-geography, globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones and cultures
  • Hands-on experience across several technology areas, with ability to quickly adapt to adjacent domains
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and the local language
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Platform / Role Context

  • Security Director Cloud (SD Cloud): cloud-native Security Management Platform for centralized management, monitoring, policy administration, and automation
  • Manages Juniper SRX, vSRX, Secure Edge, and hybrid cloud security environments
  • Enables consistent security policy management across on-premises, cloud, and remote locations through a single web interface
  • Serves as an HPE/Juniper management portal for SASE and includes unified policy management, Zero Trust capabilities, Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP), threat visibility, analytics, automation, and API-driven integrations
  • Security Director (On-Prem): on-premises version of the same security management platform with centralized SRX/vSRX management through a web-based interface
  • Successor to Junos Space Security Director, offering similar operational capabilities for locally deployed requirements
