Sr. Software Engineer (Apache, Python, Trino, Kubernetes)

Senior software engineer responsible for designing, maintaining, and evolving complex analytics and real-time data systems in a large-scale environment, onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance diverse software platforms, including analytics processing, novel algorithms, handling very large datasets, real-time systems, and management information systems, all aligned to documented requirements.
• Contribute either individually or as part of a team to project efforts.
• Review software components for conformance to design requirements and document test results.
• Investigate and resolve software problem reports and defects.
• Select and apply appropriate software development and design methodologies for the given environment.
• Provide design input covering hardware/software trade-offs, code reuse, use of COTS/GOTS where applicable, and requirements analysis from system level down to individual components.
• Analyze user requirements to derive design and performance criteria, debug existing software, fix defects, and suggest improvements to documentation and development standards.

Requirements

• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a SWE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university; four (4) additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for the degree.
