Sr Software Engineer
Job Description
VizyPay builds VEXIS, a proprietary CRM platform, and is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer (Mobile) to design, develop, and maintain the mobile experience for iOS and Android. This role owns mobile architecture and delivery end-to-end, including security and compliance, CI/CD and release management, and production reliability. If you care about shipping reliable software across platforms and aligning mobile decisions with a TypeScript/Angular engineering stack, this position offers a direct path to impact.
What you’ll do
- Own the architecture, security, and performance of VEXIS mobile across iOS and Android, leading an evaluation of native vs. cross-platform approaches and making a recommendation based on cost, performance, maintainability, and fit with VizyPay’s TypeScript/Angular ecosystem.
- Define and enforce mobile engineering standards covering project structure, state management, offline-first data, testing, and accessibility, while mentoring engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design reviews as a hands-on individual contributor.
- Operate in an Agile environment and collaborate with Product, Engineering, UX/UI, and other stakeholders across the software development lifecycle, aligning the mobile roadmap with platform architecture, security controls, and product roadmaps in partnership with Information Technology (Infrastructure & Security, Software Engineering).
- Design, develop, and maintain the VEXIS mobile application, including API integration (REST and WebSockets), push notifications (APNs/FCM), offline-first synchronization, and a responsive, performant user experience.
- Build and operate mobile CI/CD and release management (such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and fastlane) to automate builds, code signing, and store submission workflows through App Store Connect and Google Play Console, including staged rollouts and release-health monitoring.
- Implement automated testing across the mobile stack (for example XCTest, Espresso, Detox, Appium, Maestro) with quality gates, and use crash/performance monitoring (such as Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry) to drive root-cause resolution.
- Engineer the application secure-by-design aligned with PCI DSS and OWASP MASVS/MASTG, including secure storage (Keychain/Keystore), certificate pinning, secure token/session handling, and least-privilege API access.
- Partner with InfraSec on mobile threat modeling, logging, monitoring, and audit readiness, and ensure production releases follow formal change management with audit-ready change records.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering with a strong mobile emphasis, including 3+ years shipping and operating production mobile applications distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, with accountability for quality, performance, and outcomes.
- Preferred certifications: Google Associate Android Developer (AAD), App Development with Swift Associate, App Development with Swift Certified User, or equivalent.
- Experience working in security- or compliance-constrained environments (for example PCI DSS, SOC 2, or financial services regulation) with formal SDLC and change management within Agile delivery.
- Proven ability to translate business and product requirements into shipped mobile capabilities with measurable outcomes, and to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Production iOS and Android expertise, using native toolchains (Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) and/or cross-platform frameworks such as React Native, Flutter, Ionic/Capacitor.
- Mobile testing experience with automated unit, UI, and end-to-end testing (for example XCTest, Espresso, Detox, Appium, Maestro) and quality gates.
- Secure mobile engineering experience aligned with OWASP MASVS/MASTG, including Keychain/Keystore, certificate pinning, and secure token/session handling.
- Release engineering experience with App Store Connect and Google Play Console, including submission workflows, code signing, staged rollouts, and tooling such as fastlane.
- CI/CD pipeline experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions, plus strong Git fluency and development in VS Code or platform IDEs.
- API integration experience with RESTful services, real-time patterns (such as WebSockets), push notifications (APNs/FCM), and offline-first synchronization.
- Observability experience using tools such as Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry for release-health analysis.
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills and computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design patterns) applied to production systems.
- Technical leadership experience through mentoring, code/design reviews, or ownership of engineering standards.
