Sr. Principal Software Engineer

Senior Principal Software Engineer with Northrop Grumman Defense Systems, focusing on CHORD cross-domain handling of releasable data. This onsite role is based in Orlando, Florida, and requires an active DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex, secure software systems derived from documented requirements.
• Work independently or within a team to review and test software components for conformance to design requirements and document test results.
• Address and resolve software problem reports as part of a collaborative effort.
• Apply software development and design methodologies appropriate to the project environment.
• Provide input to system design including hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, and the use of COTS/GOTS in lieu of new development; perform requirements analysis from system level to individual software components.

Requirements

• A STEM degree with corresponding experience: BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 8 years of related technical experience; OR MS in a STEM field with 6 years; OR PhD in a STEM field with 4 years.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Proven software development experience with Java or C++.
• Proven debugging experience with existing software and defect correction.
• Experience with the SDLC and agile methodologies.
• Minimum 5 years of development experience in a Linux environment, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Understanding of, and experience supporting, an integrated master schedule.
• Knowledge of both waterfall and agile software development lifecycles.
• Experience leading a small software team through the development process.

Salary

Salary range: USD 122,800.00 to USD 184,200.00 per year.
