Sr Full stack Software Engineer

Vista Higher Learning offers a hybrid Boston-based Senior Full Stack Software Engineer role with a salary range of USD 140,000 - 150,000 per year. This position supports innovative digital language education products and enables you to contribute across backend and frontend development within a collaborative team.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will bring backend and full‑stack expertise to a development team focused on delivering cutting edge digital language education tools.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Conduct tests to optimize performance and reliability
• Write clean, maintainable code to develop functional web applications
• Collaborate effectively with teammates from multiple disciplines to deliver on time and efficiently

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years of senior level software engineering experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails or Python + JavaScript
• Proven software architectural design experience, including data persistence and API design
• Strong understanding of networking and web browser protocols
• Advanced working knowledge of Unix-like systems and comfort with terminal command line
• Advanced SQL and database schema design knowledge
• Advanced working knowledge of Git and GitHub
• Experience collaborating with other departments and teams
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
