SQL Developer
Job Description
SQL Developer supporting enterprise database solutions for Navy submarine programs with a hybrid work arrangement and clearance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and maintain relational database objects in third normal form (3NF).
- Develop and execute SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and scripts.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL interfaces including MS SQL Server Management Studio, Hue/Impala, SQL*Plus, and related tools.
- Modify, load, delete, and query data within DataBricks and MS SQL Server environments.
- Upload and integrate records from flat files, APIs, and cross-database schemas.
- Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for data issues.
- Conduct database performance tuning and optimization to improve query efficiency and system responsiveness.
- Respond to change requests, system enhancements, and bug fixes in a timely manner.
- Support database deployments, testing, and migration activities.
- Collaborate with development and business teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation related to database structures, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (post-employment).
- Bachelor’s degree required; High School Diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience acceptable.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in relational database development and data handling across 3NF, SQL/NoSQL interfaces, DataBricks and MS SQL Server, including data from flat files and APIs and data integration.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, and data integrity principles.
- Experience writing complex SQL queries and troubleshooting database issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.

Program Overview
- Acquisition of COLUMBIA Class Submarines, including R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) with significant congressional and OSD visibility
- Acquisition of VIRGINIA Class Submarines, including lifecycle management, T&E, LFT&E, and Fleet introduction, with an estimated lifecycle cost around $336B
- SSN(X) program focusing on next-generation fast attack submarine design and acquisition, emphasizing speed, stealth, payload capacity, and operational endurance
