Job Description

At Booz Allen Hamilton, a Special Missions Software Engineer helps drive end-to-end software and systems from concept to production-ready within an Agile environment, supporting missions at Fort Benning, Georgia. The role emphasizes architectural stewardship, mastery of development tools, and close collaboration to address complex client challenges using modern architectures and technologies.

USD 86,800 - 198,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end solutions as a full-stack developer in a fast-paced Agile setting
  • Develop software and systems from vision to production-ready state
  • Go beyond coding by mastering new tools and techniques and identifying system improvements
  • Help clients tackle their toughest challenges using current architectural approaches and technologies
  • Ensure the team's solution respects existing architecture and operating environments while planning for future functionality

Requirements

  • More than five years designing, modifying, and implementing software within Agile development
  • Over five years building software across core languages, technologies, and web stacks
  • Familiarity with Agile practices, XP, software engineering, product management, and software products
  • Proven ability to write new code for applications or create and refine code samples for existing projects
  • Skilled in both server-side and client-side languages to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Proven track record solving complex problems as part of a cross-functional team
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree, or 8+ years of software engineering experience in lieu of a degree

Work Model

  • Onsite: work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration required with colleagues and clients as needed
  • Hybrid: periodic work from a Booz Allen facility is expected, with potential visits to customer facilities
  • Remote: there may be occasions to work remotely, but some in-person work could be required at Booz Allen or a customer facility
