Software Engineer, Mission Systems

Responsibilities
- Define system architecture across airborne, ground, and cloud components for aircraft communications, fleet operations, and data management
- Develop, troubleshoot, and deploy software throughout the stack, including embedded systems, Linux platform software, and the application layer
- Integrate complex third-party hardware and software into the Reliable Robotics autonomy platform
- Deliver high performance and reliability for software used daily in both R&D and production environments
- Support testing and maintenance workflows for autonomous aviation systems, spanning aircraft, control center, and cloud
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years systems-level programming experience in Rust and/or C++
- Experience in environments where software is deployed and used daily in production

Preferred Criteria
- Practical experience deploying software to and operating on Linux in production, including networking, containerization, and profiling/performance management
- Experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS, plus building systems that interact with AWS services
- Networking fundamentals, including UDP/IP, NAT, sockets, and routing
- Experience developing software that drives hardware systems
- Experience with distributed systems and messaging protocols
Location and Work Setup
- Mountain View, CA (onsite)
- Travel: 10% of the time
Compensation
- USD 140,000 - 200,000 per year
