Software Engineers (Level 2 or 3)
Job Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking Software Engineers (Level 2 or 3) to contribute to the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of satellite ground software onsite at the McLean, VA campus.
Responsibilities
- Full stack development across operating system, platform, and mission specific software layers.
- Design and implement client and server applications and services using service- or object-oriented architectures with message bus data exchanges and first-of-a-kind capabilities.
- Work with languages and toolsets including Python, C++, Postgres, Ansible, cloud infrastructure provisioning, PKI, and static code analysis with remediation actions.
- Operate as a self-starter capable of making decisions with overall project budget and schedule in mind.
- Provide support for Operations ground software and related configurations, troubleshooting software and hardware impacting ground software operation.
- Assist Acceptance Test events by participating in test execution.
- Develop and maintain test automation.
- Configure ground segment software.
- Identify, resolve, and remediate software defects.
- Implement software enhancements driven by customer change requests or mission needs.
- Provide ground software support during launch and launch rehearsal events.
- Assist with installing new ground segment software across operational, development, and test environments.
Requirements
- Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 2 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 0 years; or equivalent experience (additional 4 years) in lieu of the degree.
- Level 2: Demonstrated software development experience.
- Level 2: Python application development, C++, Bash Scripting experience.
- Level 2: U.S. Citizenship.
- Level 2: Must have an active Top-Secret clearance at the time of application with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 5 years of experience, or a Master’s with 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year; or equivalent experience (additional 4 years) in lieu of the degree.
- Level 3: Demonstrated software development experience.
- Level 3: Python application development, C++, Bash Scripting experience.
- Level 3: U.S. Citizenship.
- Level 3: Must have an active Top-Secret clearance at the time of application with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
