Software Engineer, UI/UX
Job Description
Build responsive AI product interfaces that connect design intent with fast, reliable front-end experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and implement user interfaces for AI-driven web and mobile applications.
- Partner with backend and infrastructure teams to support integration with APIs and data pipelines.
- Maintain a consistent design system across web frameworks (Next.js, Svelte, React) and mobile platforms (iOS, Android).
- Improve front-end performance, accessibility, and responsiveness.
- Run user testing and feedback sessions to refine usability and visual design.
- Contribute to architecture and tooling for build, testing, and deployment using Bun, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Stay current with emerging UI/UX and front-end trends, with focus on AI, visualization, and interaction design.
- Create, edit, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), driving process improvements and standardized templates.
- Perform ad-hoc and cross-functional duties or projects as assigned to support business needs and development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of front-end development experience with strong proficiency in Next.js, Svelte, and React.
- Experience designing and shipping native iOS and Android applications (using React Native or native SDKs).
- Preferred: experience with design tools (Figma, Sketch) and UI component libraries.

Working Environment / Physical Environment
- Onsite position in Dunkirk, NY.
- Regular work schedule: Monday–Friday during standard business hours; flexibility available with manager approval.
- Must be able to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.
- Lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds.
- Requires extensive use of computer keyboards and monitors.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong understanding of TypeScript, Node.js, and modern bundlers like Bun.
- Ability to translate product requirements into clean, elegant, scalable interfaces.
- Solid understanding of UX principles, accessibility best practices, and responsive design patterns.
- Excellent collaboration skills with engineers, designers, and AI product teams.
- Contribution to open-source projects or portfolios demonstrating advanced web/mobile work.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional teamwork.
- Interest in designing human-centered interfaces for LLM and agent-based systems.
Compensation: USD 130,500 - 145,000 per year
Experience: Minimum 3 years
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
