Job Description

Software Engineer with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph, onsite in Chantilly, VA, developing scalable, maintainable applications and UI components for government activities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver scalable, maintainable, high‑performance software solutions.
  • Collaborate with the development team to create reusable UI components, optimize UI performance, and ensure accessibility.
  • Develop web and client/server applications using Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Work with Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA in application development.
  • Upgrade legacy Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA versions to current releases.
  • Leverage modern frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular.
  • Design databases and write SQL queries; Oracle experience is preferred.
  • Use version control systems like Git (GitHub, GitLab, etc.).
  • Build RESTful APIs and services to support application functionality.
  • Contribute within an Agile development environment.
  • Analyze user interfaces, monitor system performance, and assist in hardware and software tuning.
  • Assess workload, system usage, downtimes, and propose modifications or upgrades.
  • Define system requirements and program specifications for development teams.
  • Collaborate closely with programmers to ensure accurate implementation of specifications.
  • Engage with functional users to evaluate and propose alternative technical solutions.
  • Research emerging technologies to assess their potential impact on organizational systems.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Experience: 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Location: Chantilly, VA (On Customer Site)
  • Citizenship: US Citizenship Required
  • Required skills
    • Developing web and client/server applications using Java, TypeScript/ JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
    • Working with Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA
    • Upgrading legacy versions of Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA to current versions
    • Utilizing modern frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular
    • Designing databases and writing SQL queries (Oracle experience preferred)
    • Using version control systems such as Git (GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
    • Building RESTful APIs and services
    • Contributing within an Agile development environment

    • Testing frameworks such as JUnit or Cypress
    • Experience using ServiceNow
    • Familiarity with Kubernetes

Salary and Benefits Information

  • The likely salary range for this position is $162,037 to $219,227. Salaries are determined by experience, location, and contractual requirements and may fall outside this range.
