Software Engineer III (Senior UI/UX Engineering Lead)

This senior UI/UX engineering role centers on UI development and modernization of a data tracking and metrics system. The position collaborates with development teams and is based onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD, requiring an active TS/SCI clearance.

Position Overview

The role joins a senior team focused on updating an existing data tracking and metrics system, with the primary emphasis on user interface and user experience development. It aims to deliver highly usable, intuitive, and efficient interfaces by applying established UI/UX principles. Close collaboration with development teams is expected to enhance usability, resolve design challenges, and provide mission-focused user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement intuitive, user-centered interfaces for enterprise applications
• Apply UI/UX best practices to improve usability and user engagement
• Modernize and enhance existing data tracking and metrics systems
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to translate requirements into practical UI solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve UI/UX and design-related issues
• Ensure consistency, accessibility, and responsiveness across interfaces
• Contribute to front-end architecture and design standards
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on UI/UX strategies and implementation

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline (Substitution: Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience on similar projects may be substituted for a bachelor's degree)
• Twenty (20) years of Software Engineering experience
• Alternative: Twenty-four (24) years of experience without a degree
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments
• Experience with CSS, JavaScript, and HTML
• Experience supporting UI design and front-end development
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues
• Demonstrated UI/UX development experience and application of best practices
