Software Engineer III (Graphics Support, Web Designer)
Job Description
Senior Software Engineer III focused on graphics support and web design, overseeing development of websites and applications while ensuring usability, accessibility, and brand consistency.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain custom websites and applications, including projects that require advanced programming across multiple languages such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python, PHP, and SQL.
- Apply design tools and technologies including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, PowerPoint, along with HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML, while working with UNIX and Windows NT environments and TCP/IP networking concepts.
- Develop and implement front end interfaces and back end functionalities across platforms to support both public facing and internal websites.
- Provide limited support to graphics related efforts for the organization’s SharePoint page and other internal content management systems.
- Utilize analytics and monitoring tools to measure site performance and user behavior, making data driven recommendations to enhance usability and user experience.
- Build and support event registration and information sites with features tailored to mission requirements.
- Ensure compliance with DoD and Army cybersecurity and accessibility standards in development and maintenance of web assets.
- Develop technical documentation and configuration settings related to web security, backup procedures, and overall site architecture.
- Provide backup support for digital and social media platforms to maintain consistent messaging and alignment with web content strategies.
- Back up other graphics related functions, including event photography and production of awards.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Graphic Design, Computer Information Systems, or Web Design.
- At least ten (10) years of experience with demonstrated knowledge in conceptualization, layout, typography, photography, illustration, Web Design and animation, production, and prepress work, including five (5) or more years of professional Web development and coding experience in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, PowerPoint and other design tools as well as HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML.
- Associate’s Degree plus minimum twelve (12) years of experience in the fields above may substitute for the Bachelor’s Degree.
