Job Description
C.H. Robinson’s Transactional Revenue Management team is building and evolving scalable near-real-time pricing systems that support data-driven decisioning. As a Software Engineer III (Remote), you’ll help design distributed, cloud-native services, develop data-intensive applications, and collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and analysts. The team has a growing focus on AI-assisted development and agentic, intelligent automation to improve how solutions are built and operated.
What you’ll do
- Design and deliver high-complexity, scalable solutions for near-real-time decisioning systems
- Architect and evolve distributed systems, including microservices and RESTful APIs
- Architect and evolve event-driven and streaming architectures
- Develop hybrid data storage strategies using relational and NoSQL approaches
- Build and maintain applications with Python (backend services and data pipelines) and React (frontend user experiences)
- Develop and operate cloud-native solutions in Azure using Kubernetes
- Design and implement data workflows using Airflow or DAG-based orchestration frameworks
- Work across modern data ecosystems including MongoDB (or similar) and Snowflake (or comparable analytical platforms)
- Own services and repositories end-to-end, with focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability
- Break down complex initiatives, guide estimation and delivery timelines, and proactively manage execution risks
- Implement strong testing practices (unit, integration, and end-to-end) and maintain code quality standards
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (for example, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate workflows and improve code quality
- Contribute to agentic and intelligent automation solutions that support adaptive and decision-driven workflows
- Partner with data scientists and analysts to productionize models and support experimentation frameworks
- Apply statistical thinking or data science concepts where applicable to improve system effectiveness
- Contribute to planning, prioritization, and team delivery execution, including clear communication on progress, risks, and technical decisions
- Participate in design discussions, lead code reviews, and mentor other engineers
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years designing and delivering production-grade software
- 5+ years with Python and backend service development
- 5+ years with React or modern frontend frameworks
- Experience building cloud-native applications (Azure preferred) with Kubernetes
- Experience with modern data technologies, including MongoDB (or similar) and Snowflake (or equivalent)
- Experience with data pipelines and workflow orchestration (for example, Airflow)
- Experience designing and consuming APIs and distributed systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
- Ability to independently own and deliver complex features or services
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and building intelligent workflows (for example, Copilot)
- Experience with agentic or LLM-based frameworks and orchestration tooling (for example, LangChain/LangSmith or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred qualifications
- Experience partnering with data science teams to deliver production models
- Background in statistical modeling, experimentation, or data-driven decision systems
- Experience in pricing, logistics, or other high-scale transactional systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and product decisions
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to team growth
- Experience with monitoring tools (for example, DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana)
Compensation
$102,700.00 - $231,100.00 per year.
Benefits
- Three medical plans including prescription drug coverage
- Enhanced Fertility benefits
- Flexible Spending Accounts
- Health Savings Account with employer contribution
