Software Engineer - III

MedSR seeks a Software Engineer - III to contribute to the EPH Platform, concentrating on frontend-focused capabilities within sizable React-based applications. This contract role is based in Lenexa, KS with a hybrid work arrangement and an hourly rate of USD 65.

Responsibilities

• Implement core product features in existing large-scale React applications and in new strategic initiatives to boost system efficiency, monitor performance, and integrate complex solution components.
• Engage in the full software development lifecycle from design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Support the gathering and analysis of business and functional requirements for proposed software solutions.
• Contribute to architectural discussions that shape product direction.
• Deliver frontend features end-to-end with a focus on user interface components.
• Design and implement changes that enhance performance and resiliency while reducing operational overhead.
• Own the delivery of a complete component within a larger system or application.
• Collaborate closely with a geographically distributed team to determine the best technical designs for new product development.
• Build solutions where problems are not well defined, defining interactions between component pieces.
• Define and apply technologies, standards, and software engineering practices, mentoring a distributed team of developers.
• Enhance the development team’s focus and effectiveness by tracking issues to resolution and reporting status to the team lead.
• Identify long-term architecture considerations within the project and raise them appropriately.
• Lead design and code reviews across multiple projects to ensure quality and consistency.
• Generate planning data, including task breakdowns and work estimates, and assess risks to support project planning.
• Communicate team and project status to the project manager and director as needed.
• Occasionally assume Team Lead responsibilities when required.
• Serve as the designated expert for the areas of the application you own.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements of development procedures by identifying opportunities and implementing solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience with a focus on .NET development.
• Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET /.NET Core ecosystem.
• Experience with the ASP.NET framework and architectural patterns such as Model-View-Controller (MVC).
• Solid background in single page application design.
• Experience with RPC and RESTful APIs.
• Extensive frontend development experience using React, including advanced components, services, routing, and state management.
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling.
• Experience with GitHub, GitLab, or other source control systems.
• Experience developing with microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Experience using caching solutions like Redis and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deploying applications using tools like Jenkins.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible) is a plus.
• Software development experience with a .NET focus: 3 years (Required)
