Software Engineer II - Java/J2EE

Bank of America is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to the Erica, Chat and Voice Technology group, delivering AI and search capabilities for banking assistants across multiple platforms. Education and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development experience using Java and J2EE technologies.
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develops code and conducts unit tests to satisfy a requirement or user story, aligned with acceptance criteria and compliance standards.
• Designs and implements solutions using multiple architectural components across data, application, and business layers to meet client requirements.
• Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) activities.
• Contributes to story refinement and clarifies requirements.
• Helps estimate work required to deliver a story or requirement through the development lifecycle.
• Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), reviews test reports, identifies issues, and triages root causes.
• Conducts spike or proof-of-concept work as needed to mitigate risk or explore new ideas.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with Java and J2EE technologies.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills for technical and business discussions.
• Solid analytical abilities to break down requirements and solve complex problems.
