Job Description
Bank of America is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to the Erica, Chat and Voice Technology group, delivering AI and search capabilities for banking assistants across multiple platforms. The role emphasizes full stack development in Java/J2EE, with unit and integration testing within an agile environment. The position is based onsite in Plano, Texas.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development experience using Java and J2EE technologies.
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Develops code and conducts unit tests to satisfy a requirement or user story, aligned with acceptance criteria and compliance standards.
- Designs and implements solutions using multiple architectural components across data, application, and business layers to meet client requirements.
- Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) activities.
- Contributes to story refinement and clarifies requirements.
- Helps estimate work required to deliver a story or requirement through the development lifecycle.
- Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), reviews test reports, identifies issues, and triages root causes.
- Conducts spike or proof-of-concept work as needed to mitigate risk or explore new ideas.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with Java and J2EE technologies.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for technical and business discussions.
- Solid analytical abilities to break down requirements and solve complex problems.
