Software Engineer - Data & Automation
Job Description
Join PNC in Pittsburgh, PA (onsite) as a Software Engineer in the Data & Automation organization. This team within the Ontology group focuses on designing, developing, and implementing Data Governance Services. You will help build solutions that use GenAI to automate monitoring and execution, while applying strong software engineering, Python and SQL skills and partnering across UI and backend/data analysis work.
What you’ll do
- Develop, test, and implement software solutions to address business needs.
- Write code, perform testing, and deploy software.
- Design software solutions with an emphasis on application design and architecture considerations.
- Maintain and debug software, including technical troubleshooting as issues arise.
- Prepare technical and procedural documentation required for software.
How the work comes together
This role supports end-to-end software delivery activities, including application maintenance, application testing, and packaged application integration. Responsibilities also align with the System Development Life Cycle and release management practices, with a focus on process improvements and group problem solving to improve reliability and execution.

Pay transparency
Base salary: $75,000.00 – $137,500.00 per year. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible, with payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
