PNC Financial Services Group is hiring a Principal Software Engineer within its Data and Automation organization. This onsite role is based in Pittsburgh, PA (or Dallas, TX per the summary) and focuses on designing and implementing software solutions that align with business strategy, leveraging AWS data and automation services alongside Infrastructure as Code.
In this position, you will lead technical direction for complex initiatives, translate business needs into workable solutions, and provide guidance to colleagues throughout the solution development lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities
- Bridge business strategy and software solutions by aligning technical work to business objectives.
- Propose, design, and code software solutions to address complex business requirements.
- Oversee technical and procedural documentation needed to support delivery and operations.
- Lead complex problem solving efforts across technical domains.
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and the broader solution development process.
- Apply modern principles, methodologies, and tools in an innovative way to advance business initiatives and capabilities.
Requirements
- Experience with AWS services including Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, EMR, Lake Formation, and DataZone.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
- Familiarity with AWS CDK or Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with Python, AWS CDK, and PySpark is a plus.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
