Software Engineer

Kestra Financial is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Advisor Platform Engineering team. The role focuses on building and maintaining front-end and back-end capabilities that power Kestra’s financial advisor platform, with emphasis on reliability, accessibility, integration, and disciplined Agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy production-ready front-end and back-end software that meets accessibility, performance, and reliability goals.
• Convert product requirements, UI/UX direction, and architecture guidance into maintainable, working implementations.
• Produce clean, well-documented, testable code aligned with team development standards, including contributions to shared component libraries and the design system.
• Participate in peer reviews with a focus on correctness, resiliency, and maintainability.
• Contribute to scalable application architecture and help ensure smooth integration across systems.
• Document technical designs for review prior to implementing significant changes.
• Create comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, supporting continuous integration and delivery for dependable, fast releases.
• Advance automated testing and deployment best practices.
• Instrument applications for proactive monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues quickly to maintain system health.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, architects, and teammates; share status updates, estimates, and demos in Agile ceremonies.
• Support junior teammates through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Identify and address technical debt and performance bottlenecks by proposing improvements to processes, tooling, and documentation.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, sharing relevant insights with the team.
• Take ownership of deliverables from initial concept through production rollout, aligning execution with team objectives and broader strategic priorities.

Requirements

• Typically 3 to 7 years of professional experience in front-end and back-end development, with a demonstrated track record delivering production systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical/work experience.
• Hands-on experience with modern web and services technologies including React, TypeScript, C#, and .NET.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and in cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across teams.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and data stores such as SQL Server and Cosmos DB (desired).
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry (desired).
• Experience modernizing legacy systems (desired).
